Through many years development, our country's railway information constructs have made huge achievements. But our country's railway information constructs, especially railway freight information constructs, is limited in railway systems, it lack communication with other systems. Our country's railway freight E-business is on a beginning phases. How to develop our country's railway freight E-business has become an important question.In recent years, the development of Workflow technology is very rapid; its character is Process Oriented and separate application logic and process logic. We can change system's function through changing process model, and distribute given task to people or tools on right time according enactment order automotive or self automotive. It organizes people, information and tools together, and makes the most efficiency, and improves work efficiency.At first, the paper research and analysis of Workflow technology and railway freight E-business process, base on theory, character and application area of Workflow technology, aim at the shortage of railway freight E-business, brought Workflow technology apply in railway freight E-business. The paper give an example of the railway freight process in Chengdu Railway Bureau East Station, achieve railway freight E-business Workflow management system, which base on Lotus Domino/Notes. The system use condition restrict direction chart as process model, complete organization model and resource model. According WfMC Workflow model and the character of Lotus Domino/Notes, application database, organization directory database, process definition database and design deposited database constitute Workflow engine, Lotus Workflow Architect serve as process model tool, and completed the prototype design and achievement of Workflow technology in railway transport freight E-business.
