Financial Strategies To The Sustainable Development

In 2005, according to the data from State Environmental Protection Administration, Panzhihua city has been one of the"Top 10 Polluted Cities of the Country", because its concentration of particulate in air exceeded the standard in 2004. It suggests the heavy environmental pressure faced by natural-resources-exploitation industrial cities, and the difficulty on balancing the sustainable development and environment protection.Natural environment is the basis of human survival and development. Undoubtedly, the severe environmental problem nowadays has threatened the sustainable development of economy, and it also has a great effect on the modern finance. In accordance with the strategic requirement of the sustainable development of the modern society, the sustainable development is not only the responsibility of the government. Meanwhile, the enterprises can't avoid responsible for it. Therefore, the enterprises'financial objectives should be coordinated with the sustainable development. In conclusion, it is very important and meaningful to analyze the relationship between the modern finance and the sustainable development, and to solve the key problems in pollution treatment and environment protection from a financial perspective.This paper combines the research methods of investigation study and theoretical analysis, and takes the environment pollution in Panzhihua city as an example, to analyze the relationship between the modern finance and the sustainable development. Through case investigation, it reveals the reasons how the environment was polluted, discusses the macro and micro influence of the sustainable development. Finally, it emphasizes how to use the modern finance techniques to solve the present problems, and to realize the sustainable development. The specific financial strategies are given from the analysis of both these important strategic measures such as"harmonious society"and the environmental pollution and protection in Pan Zhihua city. This is the main starting point and innovation of this paper.This paper can be divided into four parts. The first part: introduction. The research problem is introduced, and its research methods, content and significance are also explained. The second part: the relationship between the modern finance and the sustainable development. The content and characteristics of the sustainable development are introduced. The relationship between the economy development and the environment protection is analyzed, together with the relationship between the modern finance and the sustainable development. Then the theoretical basis is set up, which is of solving the problems concerned with the sustainable development from a financial perspective. The third part: the analysis of the environmental situation in Panzhihua city. It starts from the environmental situation in Panzhihua city, analyzes the reasons of the environmental problem. Then it discusses the influence of the environmental problem to the sustainable development, from both macro and micro perspective, which illustrates the urgency and trends of using the modern finance to solve the environmental problem. The fourth part: the financial strategies to the sustainable development. The strategies are given from both the government and the enterprises'perspective, so that the sustainable development in the natural-resources-exploitation industrial cities can be achieved.
