Discussing About The Economic And Political Impacts Of The Dispute In Textile Trade Between China And U.S.A

Entering into the new century, the bilateral economic trade cooperation has developed very quickly between China and U.S.A. It is mutual benefit and has a good tendency. In the first fifteen big trade partners of U.S.A, the import from China grows quickest and the growth is biggest. Textile quota of the whole world has been cancelled on Jan. 1st, 2005. The non-quota era's arrival makes the global textile clothing trade integrate into liberalized orbit and also makes all partners' interest conflicts intensified. Since the American Committee for the Implementation of Textile Agreements decided to implement the special guarantees measures to Chinese sock commodities on Oct.22th, 2004, the U.S.A has supposed limits on Chinese textile frequently and initiated a new trade dispute with China. In order to solve this dispute, the two parties have held seven consults altogether. Finally, on Nov. 8th, 2005, they signed the memorandum of textile and clothing trade in London. So far, this dispute in textile trade between China and U.S.A came to an end. The textile trade holds a very great proportion in trade volume between China and U.S.A. Dispute in textile trade between the two parties has become a hot issue and it is the concrete manifestation in trade domain of politics and economy gambles. The dispute may affect the development of economy and trade relations between the two countries. Naturally, the complementarity is bigger than competitive in economic and trade relations between the two countries. The relations are mutual benefits and wins to both parties. They have already become a stabler in relations between China and U.S.A. As the economic and trade relations are closer day by day, other differences in politics and culture are insufficient to rend relations between China and U.S.A, only if the U.S.A government make mistakes in Taiwan problem. So it's helpful for impelling the development of relations between China and U.S.A to study the dispute in textile trade and take valid measures to reduce trade disputes. This article reviews the process of the dispute in textile trade between China and U.S.A in 2005, analyzes the reasons of trade dispute and the influences to relations between China and U.S.A as well as China and other nations, and proposes the corresponding countermeasures in solving textile trade dispute.
