The Development Pattern Research On The Ecological Town Of Xi'an City

Eco-city is one of hot problems of urban Studies, and most of suchstudies are in allusion to big city. Ecological studies of small towns are relativelystagnant. Most of the existing ecological town researches have focused on partialconstruction or unilateral research and in defect of an integrated macro-perspectivesystem study, for example, lack of lucid, conceptualization, and systemizationelaboration on ecological concepts, connotation, and major features is easy to causepeople to stay in a vague, image and perception level to ecological town. On theapproach of ecological town construction, most studies emphasis on partial or unilateralconstruction and lack of exploration to macroscopic pattern. Therefore, study andexplore the theory of ecological town, such as the concept, connotation, target, andecological development model can enrich the ecological town and ecological citytheoretical research in the present. There are few researches about Xi'an ecological cityand no specialized research in ecological town at now. Researches suggested that theecological conditions of Xi'an are in an unsustainable status. Therefore, it is alsonecessary to take account of the development of ecologically sustainable developmentwhen we stressed the pace of urbanization. The best way is ecological city. XianMunicipal Party Committee pointed, "We should actively develop small towns," andholds that the most important thing to narrow the gap between urban and rural areas andaccelerate urbanization is to speed up the construction of small towns. Therefore, studyand explore the ecological town development model of Xian can provide guidance forconstruction of ecological town and promote its urbanization process and the ecologicalprocess, and provide examples for similar regions. It has positive current significance.The methods mainly used in thispaper are logic analysis and empirical analysis.Based on summary and analysis of ecological town construction at present, applyingprinciples of town ecology economical system, sustainable development theory,ecological capacity theory, regional integration and coordinated development theoryof urban and rural areas, this paper, with the methods of logic analysis, studies thetheoretical system of ecological town including concept, connotation, main characteristic, construction goal; explores industrial development pattern, spatial shapepattern and afforested pattern of ecological town. Based on the theory instruction, thispaper takes empirical studies about Xi'an city ecological town and suggests thedevelopment pattern and way of its construction.Conclusions drawn from the study can be illustrated as follows:This paper holds that ecological town is a humanization and sustainable inhabit,which environment is exquisite, economy is developed. Harmoniousness, effectiveness,sustainable, regional are the cities essence and the main characteristics of ecologicaltown. Harmonious nature, highly effective economy, and civilization society are theconstruction goal of ecological town.The best pattern of industry is the "ecological industry," including ecologicalagriculture, ecological industry, and ecological service industry. It Should follow theprinciples of intensives in spatial configuration, namely township enterprise aggregatesto the industrial park, population aggregates to the residential district, farmlandaggregates to moderate scale, and the pattern in greening should be the organiccombination of "spot, line, belt and surface."According to the geographical location, resources, and superiority industry, thispaper classifies and studies the small cities of Xi'an, divides the goal ecological towninto several kinds. They are ecological service industry (tourism)+forest protectiongreening pattem; ecological agriculture+production configuration greening pattern;ecological industry garden area+ecological restoration pattem; ecology serviceindustry (materials circulation industry)+ecological corridor pattern; Ecological suburbagriculture+ecological restoration pattern and so on..Leaps and bounds of the Guodu town construction have brought not onlydevelopment opportunities but also challenges and problems, especially for the ruraleconomy and ecological environment and social development. Based on the ecologicaltown construction theory and the characteristics of rural economic situation, this papersuggests the way and pattem that can solve the problems. The paper holds that livingpattern should be the Inhabitant plot, agriculture needs to be a city-oriented and efficientsuburban eco-agriculture, and service industry should be the model that village-ownedindustry and farmers buy shares. The pattern tries to achieve the goal of natural harmony,economic efficiency, and civilized society.The innovations of the thesis can be illustrated as follows:Based on summary and analysis of ecological town theory study and construction experience at present, this paper studies the theoretical system of ecological townincluding concept, connotation, main characteristics, and construction goal etc.Discussing the development pattern of industry, spatial configuration and greeningof ecological town, this paper attempt to suggest the best constructive way in industry,land use and afforesting.In the empirical research, this paper divides the goal ecological town into severalkinds and suggests the develop patterns firstly. Then, this paper takes Guodu town as anexample, puts forward the development patterns and ways that can solve the outstandingissues and problem through field investigations, attempts to provide examples andreference for other small towns.
