Research On The Competitiveness Of Automobile And Motorcycle Industry Of Chongqing

The development level of automobile industry is an important symbol, which typically indicates the industrialization level, economic potentiality, and technological innovation ability of a nation or a district. It is an important strategic choice of the country to develop the automobile industry vigorously. The automobile and motorcycle industry is a pillar industry of Chongqing. It is also the most powerful support of Chongqing industry. After several dozens years'development, Chongqing has become an important base of automobile industry and the biggest base of motorcycle manufacture, which has shown some competitive advantages: strong machine-finishing ability; high development level of the related industries, such as instrument measuring appliance, internal combustion engine, machine tool and so on; rich and multi-level labor force; several mainstay enterprises with strong competitiveness such as CHANGAN, QINGLING, JIALING, LIFAN and so on. At the same time, there are some problems which restricted the competitive of Chongqing automobile and motorcycle industry: weak of independent innovation ability, illogical product structure, behindhand development of necessary system, incomplete logistics system, behindhand development of automobile after-market.This thesis researched on the competitiveness of the automobile and motorcycle industry of Chongqing. At first, on the basis of analysis of the theory relative to the industrial competitiveness, an evaluation index system was built.Secondly, the situation of Chongqing automobile and motorcycle industry and industry cluster, necessary system, logistics system, the policies relative to the automobile and motorcycle industry were thoroughly analyzed.Using factor analytic method, the place in the whole country of Chongqing automobile and motorcycle industry was found. Then Chongqing was compared with the other areas by production competitiveness, market competitiveness, technology competitiveness, capital competitiveness, environment competitiveness and organization competitiveness. Based this analysis, the competitive advantages and weakness were obtained.Finally, aiming at the result of the demonstration analysis, some propositions were proposed for the exaltation of the competitiveness level of Chongqing automobile and motorcycle industry.
