Research On R&D Competitive Behavior Character Of Transnational Corporations In China

As China joined in WTO, more and more transnational corporations begin to set up R&D institutions in China. The R&D activities of transnational corporations in China have become a question paid attention to by government, scholars, transnational corporations and so on. The transnational corporations occupy ruling position in automobile industry when they come China that the position is mainly from their leading technologies. So what R&D competitive behavior characters do they put up? Is there any difference in R&D competitive behavior characters between transnational corporations of automobile industry having different technological innovation strategy. And what are the reasons?With these questions, twelve transnational corporations of automobile industry in China are choosed as research objects. Firstly, this paper reviews related theories and researches, and gives case study program. Then this paper uses two strategic variables to divide twelve transnational corporations to two strategic groups. Thirdly, this paper discusses R&D competitive behavior characters of two strategic groups with five R&D competitive behaviors. At last, this paper make some suggestions for imitating innovation strategic group ,domestic automobile corporations and Chinese government.
