Study On The Factors Of Partner Selection In R&D Industry-University Strategic Alliance Of Transnational Corporations

Since 1980s, with modern technology's changing in each passing day, international competition became increasingly complicated. Facing the intensely changing exterior environment, facing the request to shorten the time of exploitation, reduce the cost, and disperse the risk of R&D, the transnational corporation's R&D investment becomes internationalization, and it is effective to resolve these problems to set up for transnational corporation R&D strategic alliance. But it is a hard work to set up R&D strategic alliance, there are so many uncertainties during setting up it, and the ratio of the disintegrated strategic alliance is always very high, and the wrong partner selection is the important reason of the disintegrated strategic alliance.After entering WTO, China is becoming very important in this international trend of R&D. More and more world-famous transnational corporations establish R&D institutions in China, and the amount is increasing year by year. Among the three kinds of R&D institutions, we should pay special attention to the kind of R&D institution that the transnational corporations establish in our universities. There are thousands of universities in our country, and it is the first problem to study this phenomenon that the transnational corporations are how to choose these universities as their R&D cooperation partners, and it is also the focus of this paper.On the basis of completely analyzing some related theories, such as strategic alliance theory and strategic synergy theory, this thesis introduces "3C" principles of partner selection in strategic alliance, and constructs the new "3C" principles between transnational corporations and universities, and finds out the factors in the cooperation cases; then, the paper carries on questionnaire investigation and counts the data analysis of the factors to attempt to explain the influence degree of all factors to the university selection, and concludes from which parts does the transnational corporation select the universitie using factor analyse method; finally, the paper gives some suggestions both to our government and universities. All of these perfect the transnational corporation R&D industry-university strategic alliance theory system further, and directs the transnational corporation's implementation practice through the complete systematic research of transnational corporation R&D industry-university strategic alliance.
