| Dating back to the early 1980s, eco-tourism is considered one of the best patterns of the sustainable development of tourism. It highlights the protection of ecological environment and pursuit of being well-off in the local community. To achieve this objective, the scientific planning and effective management for eco-tourism area should be implemented.Taking the Tianshan Grand Canyon as an example, this paper aims at making a tentative theoretical study of eco-tourism planning and management. With the combination of fundamental research, case analysis and systematic research, this paper focuses on analyzing the principle and strategy for eco-tourism planning & development and achieving a continuous, healthy and stable development in this area within the theoretical framework. This paper can be summarized as four parts.The first part is the introduction, including the goal and significance of the study topic, the advances at home and abroad in this field as well as the problems that need to be tackled.The second part is the summary of eco-tourism, probing into the causes for the rise of eco-tourism, discussing the concept and connotation of eco-tourism, and analyzing the relationship between the eco-tourism and the mass tourism, the nature tourism and the sustainable tourism. Furthermore, some standards for evaluating eco-tourism are put forward. The third part elaborates on the theoretical basis of eco-tourism planning and management. It is eco-economic system. Through researching on the eco-economic system, proposes the theory frame of eco-tourism planning and management. Hoping to solve the contradiction between the validity of economy and the security of ecology in the eco-tourism area.The fourth part discusses the practical model of eco-tourism planning and management, makes a case study of the Tianshan Grand Canyon, advances the principle and strategy for the development of the Tianshan Grand Canyon, and designs the eco-tourism product of the Tianshan Grand Canyon. |
