A Study On Evaluation Of Enterprise Competence Based On Circular Economy

Enterprises are suffering from resource deficiency and natural environment deterioration. Many countries have raised their standards of energy-saving and environmental protection. The Chinese government is also paying more and more attention to these matters. Enterprises should never enhance their competence without adjusting to the trend.Circular economy is the carrier of sustainable development in the economic field. The 3R principal is an effective tool to strengthen economic efficiency. In order to keep sustainable development of society, circular economy, which promotes companies to be resource-economical and environment-friendly, enterprises are forced to reduce cost, cut down pollution, and enhance comprehensive use of natural resources. However, resource and environment factors are rarely found in current competence evaluation, neither are the researches based on circular economy. This situation is not helpful to sustainable development of both enterprises and the society.In view of this, the research based on mode of circular economy emphasizes on protecting the environment and saving resources. It analyzes the connotation of enterprise competence by employing the stakeholder theory from the circular economy point of view. The study indicates that competence originates from cost advantage and differentiae which include product differentia, reputation differentia, consumer differentia, and competence differentia. According to this argument an index system has been developed for competence evaluation, and a case study is provided to validate the theory.Chapter One is an introduction that illustrates the background, purport and technical channel. It points out the innovations of this research.Chapter Two makes a general view on the related literature. It establishes the foundation for further discussion.Chapter Three employs the stakeholder theory and balanced scorecard method to analyze the connotation and sources of enterprise competence.Chapter Four develops an evaluation index system of enterprise competence founded on circular economy. Enterprise competence is divided into eight modules which belong to three attributes.Chapter Five decides the measurement of enterprise competence.Chapter Six provides a case study.Chapter Seven summarize the work, evaluates the limitations, and propose further research.
