| The historic regions are the important component of historic cultural city. It has recorded the developing history and course of the city and is the important carrier of the traditional culture in the city, which reflects the glamour and characteristic of the city. It is essential to human society to remain the memory of the city and continue the historical contextuality of the historic city. But with the development of economy, many historic regions have been destroyed in the tide of urban renewal. The contradiction between development and protection is conspicuous day by day. How to conserve history during the development becomes the contradictory focus.Seated in the west of Shandong Province, Liaocheng is the national historic city and the charming water city north of the Yangtze. Liaocheng observes a history of 2500 and abundant man-made sights. Among the 446 exisiting cultural relics and key points of interest, three are under state-level preservation while 15 are under provincial-level preservation. The historic city of dongchang, keeping traditional street block texture and unique patterns, is the old regions of liaocheng. The historic city of dongchang is the sign of history, economy, society and culture of Liaocheng. As the soul of tourism industry of liaocheng, its protection and tourism development plays an important roal in the development ot liaocheng's tourism industry. Recently , liaocheng's tourism industry has developed quickly and reached great achievements. However, protection and tourism development of the historic city of dongchang develops slowly. The protection of the historic blocks is still a newer subject in our country. To probe into the methods of protection and tourism development is very important.Based on the study of historical development and characteristic of it, this paper illustrates the value of dongchang and presents some suggestions.The thesis is divided into five parts mainly:The first part mainly introduces the concept and current situations and development trends of the domestic and international theoretical research of the historic regions and points out the important meaning of the protecting and studying the historic city of dongchang. The second part makes a summary of position , historical evolution, characteristics of the historic city of Dongchang. It's the basis for the protection and tourism development study on the historic city of dongchang.The third part states the status quo of the historic city of Dongchang and the value of it.The fourth part introduces the principles, contents and methods about protection of historic regions.The fifth part introduces experiences of "Wuzhen"and tries to offer several suggestions for the protection and tourism development of the historic city of dongchang. To enhance the development of the historic city of Dongchang, the foremost is to continue the historical contextuality and protect the traditional street block texture and unique patterns of it. At the same time, the pubic should participate in the activity and the government be reponsible for supervising the program. Moreover, the paper also tentatively proposes the design about the historic city of Dongchang. |
