Globalization has brought tourism to every corner of the world. Featured as industrialization and commoditization, the modern tourism exerts a profound effect on the world cultures, especially the minority ones. Tourists have poured into those areas with unique folk culture and folk customs to meet their access to knowledge, marvelous spectacle because of the booming tourism, however this tendency has accelerated the pervasion and assimilation of the local cultures by the popular ones, which leads to the loss of the authenticity.The biggest attractiveness of the folk tourism is its authenticity and participation .The experience of the exotic culture authenticity will bring great impact to the deep soul of a tourist and serve as an infinite resource driving him to become an enthusiast of folk tourism. But when the people are in a crazy pursuit of profit, they boldly and blindly conduct commoditization of all the folk culture elements. Thus how to preserve the authenticity of the folk culture, how to deal the contradiction between the commoditization and authenticity has become a topic of great importance facing today's tourism industry. This paper believe the authenticity of the culture is a relative concept and should be treated in a dynamic and rational viewpoint .After research all the related materials both at home and abroad ,the paper try to give a new perception of the "authenticity " and propose a properly commoditization way to balance between the authenticity and commoditization .Although most tourists want to see the most original culture but it is almost impossible to show all the original elements to the visits without any change and modification in practice .So the paper elaborates on the "staged authenticity" to artistically conduct reasonable refinement, design ,process of the original culture and aimed to display the utmost authenticity to the visits. Finally according to the real situation of the development of folk tourism in China, some useful suggestions have been given.The paper is divided into 6 chapters: Chapter 1 is the Preface. Chapter 2 is the urgency and necessity of pursuing authenticity .Chapter 3 is the new perception of the authenticity in the new time .Chapter 4 is properly commoditization, a rational way to balance the commoditization and authenticity. Chapter 5 is "staged authenticity "a way to display utmost authenticity to visits. Chapter 6 is countermeasures and suggestions.
