Both poverty and environment deterioration are main difficulties confronted by developing countries. According to livelihood analysis approach, the study had a suvery on rural household livelihood in Guizhou province, in order to know the status of rural livelihood, especially to understand the changes of livelihood under the impact of Grain for Green Program, and find out the superiorities and risks of livelihood. The study aimed at raising recommendations of sustainable development for where confronted the problem of brittle environment and poverty; furthermore, give some reference to the following project of Grain for Green.It is a tentative study on how to use the sustainable livelihood framework, which was raised by the UK's Department for International Development. On the basis of the suvery, the author got the status of livelihood assets, including natural capital, physical capital, financial capital, human capital, and social capital. Base on the result and analysis, the author has concluded the main stratigies of livelihood. Thereout, find out the risks in different periods and patterns, and discuss the changes of livelihood causing by the program specially.In the end, the study give some recommendations aimed at improving thd level of livelihood and promoting the regional intergrative development, and point out the influence to the sustainability and long-term impact of the Grain for Green Program.
