Research And Application Of Data Extraction Based On XML

With the advent of information age, more and more data are piled up in the process of enterprises development. How to use these data and then to direct the decision-making of enterprises is the key that they win and make maximal benefit. Because of these reasons, Data Warehouse technology grows step by step.The improving of the requirement of data analysis promoted the development of data warehouse. Data is the foundation of any analysis, at the same time data is core content of data warehouse. The basis of data integration system is data extraction, as there may be various data sources with various complexities, how to accurately build wrappers for these data sources is the key to realize data integration systems. This has become a hot research topic, and is also the core of this thesis.The content of this thesis is mainly about these aspects below:First, brings the issue of data extraction forward, points out the importance of building a data extraction model; then, carries out the analysis about application environment of enterprise, what is the base of data extraction model, so it must be understood roundly and exactly; and next, this thesis shows a design of data extraction model, and explains each part of the model in detail; at last, carries out the design and realization of the data extraction model when developing actual application system.During the process of realizing the data extraction model, XML technology has been used largely to build various kinds of mapping relation and bear the weight of Meta Data. The format of XML document can be defined by user, and it is very structured, so XML becomes the best choice when defining rules of transform, establishing mapping relation and building the virtual database.
