Research On IT Governance Of Multilayer Principal-Agent Relationship Oriented

IT Governance is a new concept at IT, Economics and Management. With IT wave and the increasing trend of IT application in business enterprise, IT has already become an important property of enterprise. It is also very important for enterprise development and success. But, at the same time, IT related risk is increasing continuously. Problem of IT Governance becomes more and more serious.From the view of IT Governance, the value of IT is not only decided by high-technology, but more lied on how to establish a good structure or mechanism to promise the consistency of IT and business. So, if enterprise wants to acquire the biggest value from IT, it must implement IT governance effectively. The paper discusses the basic concept, standard, structure and mechanism of IT Governance.First of all, the paper introduces the basic concept of IT Governance, including standard, core product, and methodology. Second, synthesize the research directions and analyze the current hot points. It presents that because of the maturation of product and methodology, lacking of structure and mechanism becomes the bottleneck of IT Governance. IT specialists make asymmetry of information at IT Governance. In terms of different roles of profiting, it says nothing about the efficiency of IT Governance. The disorder of structure and mechanism conduce more serious problems of IT Governance and its principal-agent. Third, discusses the research of IT Governance multilayer principal-agent, based on Information Economics, the structure of IT Governance, and the related theories. It emphasizes the importance of cooperation in IT Governance and provide a model for that. Further more, this paper analyzes each level of multilayer principal-agent in IT Governance, especially the risk balance and promotion. It describes the structure, streamline, mechanism and tool of IT Governance based on case study. Finally, offer some suggestions about China IT Governance.
