Nowadays world container shipping is achieving great progress and the containerized vessels are getting to a tendency of great size and large tonnage, which bring a great many opportunities and challenges to the development of ports. This paper analyses the inner and external environment of Xiamen port, finds the strength and weakness of it's way to be the main container hinge, predicts the to-be ten years' container throughputs of Xiamen port by using quantitative and qualitative methods, and analyses the stratagem of the container development of Xiamen port at last.This paper consists of the introduction, four chapters and conclusion.
