ERP is a management model which establishes information network systems by utilizing modern information technology. Enterprises are paying more and more attention to ERP because it can increase the management efficiency and level and enhance enterprises'economic benefits and competitive capacities. Since 1980s when ERP industry in China emerged, much progress has been made in its application and research. However, many enterprises have failed in ERP application. Besides several objective reasons such as the dramatic change in the society's environment and inappropriate organizational structure, the absence of effective risk control systems (RCS) and performance evaluation systems (PES) contributes to the failure. This thesis begins with a brief introduction of the history and current situation of ERP, including evolution of ERP, development trend of ERP and the research status quo in both home and abroad. Then the thesis emphatically analyzes the risk of implementing ERP and how to establish ERP RCS, followed by discussions on principles of establishing ERP PES, and how to establish ERP project evaluation systems suitable for home enterprises. The Delphi method is used for evaluation, the AHP method is used to determine weight, and then the comprehensive evaluation method is used for determination of total value. Then a set of evaluation standards is applied on the total value to judge whether the ERP implementation is successful and whether further improvement is needed. At the end of the thesis, the case of Liuzhou No.2 Air Compressing Machine Factory is studied to discuss the specific implementation of RCS and PES.
