| The selection and development of leading industries is usually regarded by all the countries over the world and all the cities in the country as one of the key topics in the process of determining the strategies for economic development. The significance of this selection and development is mainly due to its positive social roles: the correct selection adapted to the changing social requisite structures; the important measure taken to optimize the industrial structure; the effective way made to enhance the competitiveness of industries. Academic thesis chooses the choosing regional leading industry as the object of study.Drawing lessons from basic theories such as industrial economics, regional economics, development economics as well, taking the selecting the leading industry in Maanshan city as main object of study, and basing on both domestic and foreign research results, the writer establishes the index system of Maanshan city. Being introduced the reality of Maanshan city, the author discusses the leading industry selection in Maanshan city with factor analysis, and carries out the tactics for the developing it.In this thesis, it is expected that the research on the selections of leading industries in Maanshan will be an aid for the policy-making departments of city government to readjust the industrial structure and to make the timely strategic decision on industrialdevelopment. |
