Study On The Community-Participation In Eco-tourism In Tongling Scenic Spot In Jingxi

Community-Participation in the eco-tourism emphasized that most benefits should be retained within the community, which was an effective way to increase residents'income, to eliminate the negative impact of tourism, and to promote sustainable development of tourism, as well as the democratization process that community residents played their own capacity to manage and impact tourism development. But now, there was not much domestic research on community involvement in eco-tourism, especially research aiming at specific communities. This Community-Participation study selected Xinling village from Tongling scenic spot in Jingxi county, Guangxi, as research object, aiming at exploring ways to promote tourism development of scenic spot and to promote economic and social sustainable development of communities. We hoped this exploration would serve as a reference for the development of other scenic spot in Jingxi and poor region of west China.This study took the measure of KAP (knowledge, attitude, practice) to collect data and information, and adopted study methods of chousing one from tow options, questionnaire investigation and semi-structure interview for tourists, and so on..In this study we firstly probed and analysed the physical geography, tourism resources, economic and social status of Xinling village, and on this base, the effect of community participation in local eco-tourism development was investigated. We explored the effect of community participation in eco-tourism to the economy, society, and ecology of Xinling village; and furthermore, we explored the problems coming forth in the process of community participating in eco-tourism in Xinling village, and factors that promoted or inhibited the participation of community in eco-tourism; aiming at the problems and inhibiting factors, we brought forward reasonable community involvement ecotourism model. The main conclusions of this study were :1) Community-participation in Xinling village were significant to Tongling scenic spot'tourism development, and the development of Tongling scenic spot relies on community participation.
