Foreign Direct Investment(FDI)and Upgrading Of Our Industry Structure

Under the theory of Den Xiaoping's reform and opening, we have achieved a great success in FDI, from the third session of the eleventh central committee of the Party. To some extent, FDI helped our country solving some problems in capital and technology. From a long period, our industry structure is irrational. At the same time, the proportion of three industries and intestine structure are unbalance. Our preponderant industries mainly fasten on industry of labor coarctation and industry of resource coarctation. And our country's main industries are three high and one low industry--high labor coarctation, high energy consumption, high pollution and low additive value. The third sessions of the sixteenth central committee of the Party definitely brought forward that we should insist people-oriented and build up all-around and harmonious and continuable conception of development so as to accelerate the development of society and people. With the scientific conception of development, we should energetically develop circular economy, realizing the change of the mode of the economic growth from extensive form to intensive form. FDI is a business behavior that pursues the maximal economic benefit. The oversea corporations thought a lot of our country's low-cost labor and abundant resource. It leaded to violate our country's industrial policy and medium-and-long-term stratagem. So the thesis that chooses FDI and upgrading our industry structure as the topic and discusses how to make use of FDI accelerating our country's technical advancement so as to upgrade our country's industry structure.The thesis is divided into 5 chapters. The first chapter, on the FDI and its correlative theory, firstly illuminates the meanings of FDI and secondly from the capital output country and capital input country, illuminates a lot of theory of FDI. In the second chapter, I mainly discuss industry structure. Firstly, I illuminate the meanings of industry structure and secondly I analyze the fluctuant factor of industry structure. The third chapter researches the theory of the influence of FDI to host country's industry structure from the positive view and negative view. And I analyze the relation among FDI technological progress and industry structure. The fourth chapter, based on the situation of China, analyzes the influence of FDI to our country's industry structure.
