Along with the development of Chinese domestic heavy-duty trucks and buses in commercial vehicle field, the industry of heavy-duty transmission is growing rapidly. Meanwhile the competition is becoming more and more severe. Carrying on the main business of the former Qijiang Gear Works, Qijiang Gear Transmission Co.,Ltd engages in the designing and engineering, manufacturing, marketing and after sales service of transmissions fitting buses and heavy-duty trucks. Turnover has been increased more than 10% per year since the new company was founded four years before. What should be mentioned specially is the good market share of bus transmission. QJ is boomed as No. One Brand in domestic bus transmission market. However, considering the circumstance complicated and changeable, it becomes an urgent subject as to how to make a practical and workable development strategy according to the company itself and enable it to continue with its fast business increase.This thesis attempts to give a strategy to the company development with the help of SWOT and BCG matrix and on the basis of studying factors of the external circumstance of Qijiang Gear Transmission Co.,Ltd and the internal factors such as its own capability of engineering, manufacturing, financial management, marketing and after sales service etc., analyzing the opportunities vs threat, strength vs weakness, Qijiang company is now facing. This strategy states the focus on the business of bus transmissions at company level and at business level the product diversity, establishing a network which is able to deliver in time various product with good quantity and even small quantity, especially the capability of integrating core strengths. Following that is the target and potential of the company. At the end of, a series of measures is suggested in order to ensure the implement of the strategy stated in this thesis.
