The demands for logistic services have increased rapidly, especially when China have entered into the WTO and enjoyed a globalizing economy. While the prospect of the whole sector is promising, many obstacles will stymie the future development of the logistics industry. For instance, the development strategies of most enterprises in the field are far from clear. Core businesses are not formed. The structures of the organizations are very loose. And there is lack of service mentality.Another prominent problem lies in the shortage of professionals in this industry and the lack of integral human resource training plan for most companies. Facing fierce competition, besides streamlining the organizational structure and improving the management, it is also urgent for logistics enterprises to cultivate their own qualified personnel through systematic training and educating.The main theme of the thesis is how to develop a successful training strategy for logistics enterprises. The first part will give a full account of introduction and discuss the methodology of the research. The Followed part (chapter one) highlights the significance of training in solving the shortage problem of skilled professionals. It will also focus on the theory issues of the logistics industry and training and educating. In the second chapter, the most important parts of training for logistics business will be analyzed. The third chapter is trying to provide a practical integral strategy for logistics enterprises. In the last chapter, a case study is presented to explain how the strategy is developed.The thesis applies a multiple approach, which embodies documentary data, interviews and personal experiences, to explore one of the imminent problems that most of the logistics firms are now facing and to provide a practical solving method. It will be helpful for both practitioners and academics.
