The Effects Of Employment Amount And Structure In The Chinese Technological Progress

Science and technology are the primary productive forces, technological level decides a country's future development,employment affects a country's stabilization. Although technological progress has no direct effet on the labour market, many economical theories suggest it can make the total amount and structure of employment fluctuate through different ways.On the basis of Solow's equation we deduce that technological progress can increase employment amount.And in the aspect of the employment's strcture ,the first industry's employment rate will decrease gradually, the second industry's will go decreasing after increasing ,,while the employment rate of the third industry will increase by degrees.On the basis of this theory we analyze the total volume and stucture effects of our country's employment from the year 1952 to 2004 by the econometrics' sofeware.The results indicate that technology progress can increase employment in the long run though it has no notable effects in short term, in the aspect of industry's structure effect it increase the third industry's employment ,but there exists no stable equilibria relation between the employment rate and technological progress of the first and second industries . At the same time we use the input output method to analysis the industry structure effects.The results indicate that technology progress causes employment to decrease except exploitation industry and food production industry,but the employment compensation mechanism increase the employment rate,these two forces decide the change of the total employment amount.At present high-tech industries represents our contry's advanced technology .we analyze the ability of increasing employment of high tech industries by input-output method. with high inductive capacity and strong radiation force, when social needs increase,high tech industries will expand swiftly,this will cause employment to increase.For it has great output multiplier,high tech industry's development can cause the whole national economy to develop.The world's employment market shows new character in the times of knowledge economy.Our country's employment is faced with more chanllenge. so we should develop the high-tech and modern service industries to make employment structure converse .Meanwhile,we should give special attention to the high-tech and newly-developing agriculture and the education course, so as to promote the good interaction between technological progress and employment.
