| In today's highly competitive international market, the survival and development of Apparel Trading Enterprises are severely threatened by the following factors: the deepening of the reform in china's foreign trade system, the abolishment of textile quota. To keep competitive, Apparel Trading Enterprises need to change their traditional trade model as pure intermediaries.Based on the theory of supply chain management and global supply chain management, this paper first analyses the construction of apparel global value chain and then the characteristics of textile and clothing trade. Through case study of Li & Fung model, this paper finally presents a new operational strategy for Apparel Trading Enterprises.The main conclusions of this paper are the following: Apparel Trading Enterprise need to change their role as pure intermediary and become a supervisor of apparel global value chain; the supply chain of apparel trading enterprise should be lean and agile. To manage the global supply chain, the Apparel Trading Enterprise should take a postponement methods based on the mass customization on the upstream of the supply chain and move downward to overseas along the downstream of the chain. |
