The Research On Urban Rail Transit's Operating Cost

Compared to other mass-transportation, urban rail transit (URT) has lots of advantages, such as higher-speed,more safety, on-time, more field saved, more transport, less energy taken and less pollution, etc. Therefore, it has been popularized by many middle and big cities which have realized that developing URT with big capacity is a must to deal with traffic problem. URT is a big project with high building and operating cost and long financial period. Because it has characteristics of standard-public product, many operating units are in loss and maintain their daily operating by means of government's financial support. So, it's very important to study how to minimize URT's operating cost in the condition of low URT's ticket by way of the analysis on URT's operating cost.The major content of this dissertation can be divided into three parts. The first part mainly analyzes the characteristic of URT and it's operating status in our country, and analyzes URT's operating cost step by step in accordance with the cost elements. Meanwhile, The author has made a thorough analysis on the four factors which might affect the URT's operating cost. The author study the URT's operating cost of Beijing empirically in according to the historical data. At the same time, the author pay attention to the comparison analysis to the other public transportation. The second part focouses on the problem of how to calculate the URT's operating cost. The author puts forward to the ABC method to fufill the task in the condition of focoused and multi-lines management. The last part analyze the use of URT's operating cost in the field of making up reasonable ticket and strengthening operating management. At the same time, the auther put forward to rational suggestions to minimize the URT's operating cost and improve URT's units' profitability and hematopoiesis to lighten the financial burden of the government.
