Study On Current Situation And Improvement Of Competitiveness Of Nanjing's Automotive Industry

Automotive industry shows great vitality from the day when it emerged. After more than 100 years'development it has turned into one of the most powerful industries. And its level of a nation has become an important mark measuring the nation's industrialization level, creative ability of technology and science and economic strength.Having a history of over 50 years the automotive industry of Nanjing has fairly good basis and strength. Although Nanjing once was one of the most important automobile manufacturing bases of China, its automotive industry fell behind because of the other cities'high-speed developing in last decade especially in the recent years. As one of the pillar industries, how could the automotive industry of Nanjing make a room for itself in the keen competition in China? To answer this question we need to study the competitiveness of Nanjing's automotive industry. So the purpose of this dissertation is to find out the factors influencing the competitiveness of Nanjing's automotive industry and ascertain its strengths and weaknesses through analysis, and put forward some ideas fitting the development of Nanjing's automotive industry and some ways improving its competitiveness.The dissertation consists of five parts as the following:Part one: mainly puts up the question, makes the purpose, significance and contents of the study clearly and summarizes the relative study both in and out of China.Part two: first discusses the definition of industrial competitiveness, then reviews the basic theories about the industrial competitiveness especially the Diamond Model and the industry cluster theory used to analyze Nanjing's automobile industry later.Part three: analyzes the current situation of international and Chinese automotive industry on the base of relative materials.
