With the purpose of providing suggestions for the development of pension plans in China.The first chapter drew an overview on the situation of annuities over the world and the significance of this research. In this overview it talks about the small and medium-sized business'status in China and the contributions small business made to US economy. The small and medium-sized business has become the most important part in the economy development of China, so does the small business in US. The total value which small business produced takes half of US's GDP.Also in this overview it shows the research field of small business pension plans in US. It focuses in the classification, the compare of pension in big and small business, the setting up procedure and management of small business pension plans. The other hand, the research field of small and medium-sized business pension plans in China contains function, scheme and management.The second chapter analyzed the characteristic, types, advantages and disadvantages of the small business plan. This chapter also compared these different small business plans which come from different prototypes including SEP, SIMPLE and qualified plans with each other.The third, forth, fifth and sixth chapter introduced Keogh plans, SEP, SIMPLE IRA and 401(k) plans for small business in the fields of definition, setting up, contribution, benefits, distributions, investment and information disclosure.The last chapter put the situation of China and pension plans in China together, put forward the feasibility of applying the advantages of small business plans in US.
