In the modern world, scientific technology has a much more effect on human society than ever before. Scientific technology brings great change to human, a series of problems caused by rapid progress of science and technology and by the great achievements in the practical applications. The fact also tells us science and technology has two sides, which brings our mankind negative influences on society as well as the great benefits.As the most part of scientific technology activity --- science and technical workers should undertake the social responsibility positively. Because scientific and technical workers master the specialized scientific technology knowledge, they can foresee the possible application prospect of this scientific technology knowledge more accurate than other people. They have the responsibility to forecast and appraisal science and technology's advantage and negative influence; they must carry science education on the public. The modern scientific and technical workers not only engage in their own specialized work, as the social outstanding person, usually they also participate in the government and industry's significant decision-making and management, they have special prestige, their opinion can receive the especially trust. Therefore in this moment scientific and technical worker's social responsibility appears especially important.This article is divided into five chapters to discuss the related question of scientific and technical worker's social responsibility:The first chapter the background and the significance of research.The second chapter analyses the definition and the content of the responsibility and the social responsibility.The third chapter taking the history of science as the clue discusses scientist's formation and the development of scientist's society responsibility. At last along with the technicalization of the science; technology relying on science and the integration of science and technology, this article considers that we should discuss the science and technical worker's social responsibility as a whole.
