Assembly Multinational Enterprise Global Sourcing Strategy Implementation Study

With the function evolution of sourcing, the status of sourcing becomes more and more important. It is developed from passive buying to positive buying, until reaches strategy sourcing. Global sourcing is the result of sourcing reaching strategic position. The global sourcing of multinational companies is not only sourcing activity, but also a cost oriented strategy. Multinational companies integrate their global resource by implement global sourcing strategy, mainly by manage their global supply chain. Some features of assembly multinational companies are: the cost of material takes big percentage of total product cost, there are many kinds of materials, there are plenty of suppliers. So sourcing is very important for assembly multinational companies, and the global supply chain is very complicated.With economy globalizing, the competition of multinational companies become severe and severe. The analysis tools 5 powers model and SWOT model are used to investigate the competitive situation of multinational enterprises, by the analysis we know multinational companies have to establish global sourcing strategy to succeed. Some noted assembly multinational companies'global sourcing goals model are used to analyse and make a common global sourcing goals model of assembly multinationals, it is a direction how to implement global sourcing strategy. In this thesis it introduces the knowledge of sourcing and supply chain, and the knowledge of global sourcing, it present the procedure of global sourcing.This thesis emphasizes on investigating assembly multinational companies how to implement their global sourcing strategy, mainly by study the operations and management of multinational companies global supply chain.
