The Impact Of The Household Characteristics On Rural Poverty In Yunnan Province

At present, there are still quite a number of families in poverty in China. In the development process, they are marginalized gradually, and the poor families generally have the characteristics of material deficiency, vulnerability and entitlement defeat. This is actually a lack of ability. For a long time, the academic study of poverty has been staying at the macro level, so the conclusion is often too general. The study of poverty must focus on the internality of household because of the direct relation between poverty and household characteristics,The rural poverty in Yunnan Province, which is the most impoverished province in our country, is the typical representation. The analysis of the relationship between household characteristics and household output of Yunnan Province indicates that household income as a part of the household output will be affected by its characteristics. In the investigation, we found that the rural families of Yunnan Province had its unique features. The province's multi-ethnic culture will have an impact on household income. Taking religious belief and customs for instance, we have analyzed characteristics of minority cultural, and found that it would affect household behavior choices, thereby household income by the infiltration of ideology and values. On this basis we empirically tested the relation between household characteristics and household income, and the main household characteristics'contribution rate to household income. And then we found that various aspects of the household characteristics will have impacted on household income, and poor farmers'internal factors are important reasons for their poverty. Therefore, the anti-poverty policies must take rural families as the beginning and the ending. The government would improve their ability in the internality of the household with the purpose of getting rid of poverty steadily.
