Efficiency And Factors Research On Agricultural Listed Companies Of China

Taking 36 agricultural listed companies entering into the market before 2001(included 2001) as research objects, this article analyzes the efficiency and its change of the research objects from 2001 to 2004 by using the method of data envelopment analysis. Then, it researches the factors which affect the efficiency of the agricultural listed companies, and puts forward some relevant policy suggestions. This article consists of five parts:The first part of the article is Chapter One, which introduces the research aim, the significance, the research actuality and the article frame.The second part is Chapter Two, which defines the agricultural listed company and summarizes the development of agricultural listed companies. It Makes matting for analyzing the efficiency for the following part.The third part is Chapter Three, introducing the method and the theory of efficiency measurement, and introducing the model of the data envelopment analysis deeply, which will be used in the following part.The fourth part concludes chapter Four, chapter Five and chapter Six.Chapter Four explains models and indexes this article has chose and the reason to choose them and gives real examples researching on efficiency and its change of the research objects. The results show that general efficiencies of the research objects were very low, and the efficiencies were difference among sub-industries. For most companies, the low scale efficiencies would result in the low general efficiencies. Chapter Five is based on Chapter Four, which composing frontier function of production and analyzing the outputs' flexibility of input factors. The result indicates that the change of labor factors and invisible assets factors could change the outputs. In chapter six, which is also based on chapter four, the article will analyze the relationship between the productivity and the capital construction and put forward some corresponding suggestion for decision makers.
