In the recent two years, China's telecom industry is growing rapidly. Especially, the telecom value-added services such as SMS and colour ring have shown great business prospects to us. The increments of New Year's SMS and the success of "Super girl voice" have shown the great potential.This paper firstly explains why this topic has chosen to be discussed, research method, and the framework of this paper. Secondly, it describes the definition, characters, catalog of value-added service and makes precise description the development situation and trend of the value-added service both in our country and other countries. Then, it introduces the development status of value-added service in other countries when 3G services have been provided. The fourth part is the most important part in this paper. It focus on analysis the prospect of value-add service in China by using listing, comparison, SOWT. Through market research, give CMCC and service developer some advice. Then, it comes to a conclusion that the telecom operator should hold the value chain, make have deep understanding in consumer, win with the cooperator together by using multiple marketing resource and approach to promote value-add service's development.
