Since 1990's, team (or teamwork) has become a hot topic. To say objectively, team is playing a significant role that is much more important than the theories of Organization Culture that had been prevailing during 1980's, as well as it has put the theories of organization forward greatly. But on the other hand, we must realize that team is also a complex problem in practice, so many enterprises couldn't get the ideal results through adopting team as a method to improve their competitive edge. Especially for the enterprises adopting Lean Production, the failure of team has already become one of the main reasons that limit lean production to reach a new height, even lead the new production method to failure, too. This dissertation, connecting the Lean Thinking with the theory of organization and team, discusses the team problem in lean production deeply. The frame of this dissertation is as following: This dissertation analyzes Womack's theory of Lean Thinking (1996) firstly. Based on these analyses, the fourth part of this dissertation demonstrates that teamwork is not only a way to meet the technical requires of lean production but also a very effective method to reduce the waste of organization and improve the competence of organization. Then this dissertation put forward the conception of Lean Team by discussing the common points of teams in different companies which adopt lean production and the relationship between lean thinking and related theories about team (team work). In the firth part, this dissertation analyses the diversified factors affecting the availability of teamwork, puts forward a method to form the lean team. In the last part, based on the academic analysis, the author explains the significance of lean team for both the lean production and the competition strategies of enterprises with two practical cases.
