| The mold,known as the "mother of the manufacturing sector", is an important basic technical equipment, which plays an irreplaceable and important supporting role in modern manufacturing. In recent years, China's mold industry has been developing rapidly, which drives tremendous benefits, but the overall technology and product quality is still far behind the developed countries. Besides, the phenomenon of"high in import and low in export"is still existed as well as the "three low" phenomenon on new technology, productivity and specialization. In this paper, from the perspective of industrial clusters, the mold enterprises of typical regions are investigated, the main factors which affect the advance of the technology innovation level of mold enterpeises in China are analyzed, the advantages of developing cluster innovation are studied, a new cluster platform for mold industry is constructed which bases on technology innovation chain, and a practical case analysis of mold city is carried out.The main contents of the paper includ mold industry cluster innovation capability evaluation, cluster innovation platform building and the characteristics of the mold clusters-mold city.details are as follows:1,The main factors of mold enterprise's technology innovation are analyzed according to the status quo of China's mold industry, combined with the extensive and profound research of small and medium enterprises in typical regions. The development of mold industry depending on technology innovation is proposed. The development of mold industrial cluster is developed vigorously, and the industrial core competitiveness is improved.2,On the basis of the study of cluster innovation capacity and its evaluation index, characteristics of mold industry as well as the diamond theory is used for reference, and the impact factor model of mold industry's cluster innovation capability assessment is constructed. The evaluation index system of cluster innovation ability is given in accordance with the principle of indicator selection. Meanwhile the analysis of mold industry's cluster innovation capacity index is given through the case study of osculating method.3,Based on the analysis of technology innovation of mold industrial cluster, a technology innovation chain based on the collaboration among the cluster is proposed. The structure and characteristics of the technology innovation chain are analyzed. And the technology innovation public platform of mold industrial cluster is constructed, depending on the technology innovation chain.
