The Reserch Into The Social Transformation Of West Resource-based Cities From Perspective Of The People-oriented Idea

Resource-based city, as a special city, once made great contributions to thecountry's economic development. As the economic growth, prosperity and recessionare all closely related with their own resources, the economic development of a city isover dependent on local resources.However, as for the limited reserves andnon-renewable resources, resource-based cities will face the economic transformationsooner or later, otherwise, they will experience a economic recession.China has richresources and more than 400 cities are typically resource-based. Resources are thematerial basis for national economic and social development.Therefore, economictransformation of resource-based cities will be the central issue of economicdevelopment for a long time, The proposal for the people-oriented idea provided apowerful ideological weapon for the transformation of resource-based cities, and thedifficulties faced resource-based cities also provide a realistic basis for thepeople-oriented idea. Intrinsically linked are the transformation of the citydevelopment and the people-oriented idea. Resource-based urban socialtransformation is also resource-based urban development.Transformation ofresource-based cities is to build well-off society, to build a harmonious society, tofulfill the people-oriented meaning, and to embody the concept of sustainabledevelopment.Under the guidance of people-oriented idea, we are supposed to explorethe resource-based cities and its social transformation to give resources cities someinspiration for social transformation in western areas of China.China's social transformation have many obstacles in West Resources Cities, andthe paper tries to offer some suggestions and solutions to the western resource-basedcities about how to implement the transformation of urban social transformation.Under the guidance of people-oriented theory, this paper believes the major socialtransformation of resource-based cities in the west is to solve a series of socialproblems and improve people's livelihood and social construction. This paper consistsof five parts: the first part describes the research background and research purposesand reviews the studies about transformation of resources cities at home and abroad. Italso introduced the definition and classification of resource-based cities. The secondpart talks about relevant theories of urban social transformation. Part three is the main content of the resource-based urban social transformation; the fourth part describesproblems faced by the Western Resources Cities'transformation and the necessity ofthe urban social transformation in West resources. It is a dialectical analysis of therelationships between social transformation and sustainable development and betweenpeople-oriented idea and resource-based cities; The fifth part puts forward thecountermeasures and suggestions for the western resource-based urban socialtransformation and stressed the relations during the social transformation.This paper argues that any city's development and social transformation shouldbe all based on the knowledge of their own natural and cultural resources and selectproper development and transition models. The study is designed to be of directsignificance to the west regional development as well as to the other resource-basedregional development and social transformation.
