The Research On The Evaluation Of Core Competence Of Construction Enterprise Based On Gray Correlation

Construction industry, which is the pillar industry of national economy, maintained a good development trend in recent years in China. The broad developing prospects provide a good opportunity for the construction companies. However, with construction industry becomes further market-oriented, international and increasingly competitive, one construction company will face competition from many domestic rivals, but also meet the challenges from international large-scale contractors. At the same time they should use resources reasonably and build a friendly environment. In this case, to build and enhance core competence of their own construction corporations is the only way to expand its living space and achieve to a healthy and sustainable development.In this paper, the problems of construction enterprises and the theory of core competence were analyzed through literature research based on the objects of construction enterprises in China. Business processes of construction was also analyzed in a more detail from the perspective of the value chain, identifying that the core competitiveness of construction enterprises included market power, brand ability, project management capacity, financing capacity and financial status, technical innovation, management capacity, human resource management, corporate culture. Based on the analysis of the key elements, we established a more rational core competitiveness evaluation index system including 25 secondary indicators, such as successful bid rate, market share and corporate reputation. Then gray correlation analysis was used to evaluate on and compare them. Finally, we proposed measures regarding how to construct core competence as well as the attention in the process as to the actual situation of construction enterprises in China.
