Study On The Timeliness Of Highway Passenger Transportation Product

Highway transportation and railway transportation, as the two most important land transportation modes, have developed competitively and complementarily for a long time. In recent years, the fast-developing highway transportation industry has suffering great impact from the massive construction and operation of the high-speed railway. The impact is greater for expressway transportation industry. Consequently, the pattern of the land transportation market is changing now. In this situation, the key of the survival and development of the highway passenger transportation enterprises is to react correctly and promote products in accordance with the passenger demand.Through analysis, the road passenger transportation products locate in inferior position compared with railway passenger transportation products in such aspects as safety, rapidity, comfort and even economy. But for timeliness, road passenger transportation enterprises can make full use of their road network and their inherent flexible mechanism to make passenger travel more convenient and time-saving. Therefore, they should pay close attention to research the timeliness of passenger transportation product, which is the subject of this study.In this paper, industrial design theory, service management theory, timely management theory and their enlightenment to this research are introduced first as the research platform. Then, the connotation of the timeliness of the road passenger transportation product is thoroughly analyzed. Based on this, chapter 3 also discusses the research pattern and method of the product design in chapter 4. Finally, the design of the timeliness of the road passenger transportation product is conducted from two aspects.The results show that:the matching of the displacing time with the passenger's demand is the connotation of timeliness design. And in practice, it reflected in the correct arrangement of the bus departure time. to approach this target, the departure arrangement of passenger cars should be considered from two aspects. First, taking day as the research unit, model is established and solved to gain daily departure time-table of passenger car which aimed to match the departure time of bus with the arriving time of passengers and to satisfy their demand; then, taking year as the research unit, the modes of the departure arrangement of passenger cars are designed in line with the features of nine kinds of typical days, which concept put forward by studying fluctuation coefficient of passenger flow. These results could be used to guide the departure arrangement of buses in the whole year. Thus, the design of the passenger transportation product has been completed.
