Construction Of Tourism Industrial Cluster

Since 90s of last century, industrial cluster theory has developed into an important and significant one for regional economic development and attracted a lot of attention from scholars from a various range. However, the industrial cluster theory is mainly concentrated in manufacturing and other high-tech industries. In recent years, with the development of the economy and the change of consumption structure of tourist, the research about tourism industry has the corresponding changes. The tourism industrial cluster theory has been considered as a new way to improve the competition of tourism industry and its enterprises. Therefore, many authors began to study the tourism industrial cluster. Thus, the researches about the factors which impact the cluster formation of tourism industrial cluster have become an important field. This paper discusses the literature on cluster theory and policies for the development of clusters in tourism industry as a foundation for further study in this filed. At first, the author integrate various definition, make a comparative analysis between tourism cluster and the supply chain theory, and attempt to answer what a tourism cluster is, which may help in understanding the complexity of the concept. A number of different typologies or taxonomies have been developed to classify tourism clusters. The author discusses the type of tourism industrial cluster and subdivided it into five categories. And in the next chapter, the author makes a depth analysis which is deciding the formation of tourism industrial cluster. The industry condition includes the competitive and corporation relationship, regional culture, the role of government, the effect of networking and the advantages of nature resources. At the last part, the author gives a specific analysis about the tourism industrial cluster based on TianJin BinHai New Area and proposes some specific strategies and suggestion.
