Research On The Impact Of Theme Block On Urban Tourism

Theme block is a new kind of tourism resources which is gradually formed in the development process of city. It is an important attraction of urban tourism. Under the background of developing urban tourism, there is a fever to build, reconstruct and develop theme blocks. This phenomenon attracted the attention of domestic tourism academia. The researchers began to research and think about theme block and the impact of it on urban tourism.This paper firstly researches some related theories, then analyzes the mutual relationship between theme block and urban tourism. The author takes Tianjin as an example, describing the actual state of theme blocks and urban tourism in Tianjin. On the basis of actual investigation, the author summarizes a series of positive influences brought by theme blocks, and then makes some suggestions on the joint development of theme block and urban tourism. This paper is divided into four parts as following:The first part mainly expounds some related theories about theme block and urban tourism, and proposes the difference of theme block and other related conceptions, then analyzes the interrelationship of theme block and urban tourism.The second part summarizes and assesses the present situation of both urban tourism and theme blocks in Tianjin, and then analyzes their advantages and disadvantages in the development progress.The third part is the core of this paper. Based on the analysis above and combined with the questionnaire survey, the author takes Tianjin as an example to summarize the positive effects of theme block on urban tourism. It mainly includes supplying the urban tourism resources, increasing urban tourists, stimulating urban tourism consumption and so on.The last part focuses on the joint development of theme block and urban tourism. The author puts forward the following suggestions: selecting the right theme, insisting on the integrated marketing and so on.
