Since the 1980s, Star hotels in China, which absorbed the advanced technology of foreign counterparts, have been known for their strict management. The essence of the hotel management in China is concentrated on the high-star hotels, while the hotel of the economic type is neglected and conclusions on theory achievements about it are limited, there is no shaping of complete system management experience. In 1999, the State Council decided to extend the break time of May Day, National Day and Spring Festival to 7 days. The boom of holiday tourism swept across our country, domestic tourism industry has been developed rapidly. With the development of economic holidays and the rise of mass tourism, tourists'demand for economic hotels has risen for rapidly. Economic hotels grow quickly from small scale to large scale; the opportunities about new business are forming.Our country economic hotels are various in forms, including one to three star hotels, youth hostels, family hostels, motels, hostels and resorts. Family hotel is a kind of economy hotels which has developed over decades in foreign countries, whose development mode has entered the mature stage. In China, family hotel is an emerging thing, but it has made rapid progress. Many domestic scholars have started to pay close attention to this area, they have expressed certain opinions and achieved some research achievements from different angles, and different levels of certain ideas released, but it still doesn't form a complete system. Our family hotels lack of appropriate development platform such as policy supporting, laws and regulations, operators, consumer groups, marketing channel, service quality and so on. But from the trend of our holiday economy and the rapid development of mass tourism resort hotel, the family hotel in tourist site will become an important part of the hotel industry; it is worth deeply researching on.The first domestic family hotel was born in Liuzhuang village of Beidaihe in the 1980s. Now it has a history of 20 years, which has formed certain characteristics and scale, but the theory about Liuzhuang family hotels lagged. I read through news reports, network search, on-the-spot check, questionnaire investigation and analysis, finding the management mode of the Liuzhuang family hotel is not perfect enough, there existing gaps among management level and competitive power, this issue has never got enough attention and concern by the local government and related departments. It's a problem deserving of studying to make Liuzhuang family hotels develop with regulation.First, this paper presents the analysis about the concept, characteristics and function of the family hotels in order to offer theoretical basis for further development.Second, this article applies hotel management theories to study through questionnaire data analysis from the sides both two ways of operators and consumers. On summing up successful experience and some existing problems, I find its advantages and disadvantages.Third, the article summarizes the six business models which the family hotel of Liuzhuang need to improve and find out the suitable ones in order to provide a reference. I hope these research conclusions have a guiding value on the family hotels'development of Beidaihe,improving visitors to the satisfaction about the tourism market of Qinhuangdao, providing theoretical support to promote the prosperity of Qinhuangdao tourism market and realizing the goal of "livable, appropriate industry, appropriate tour".This article is divided into five chapters, the first chapter is an introduction section, the second chapter summaries development status of Liuzhuang family hotels and analyses the questionnaires, the third chapter sums up advantages and disadvantages of Liuzhuang family hotels, the forth chapter discusses the business model.
