Semi-conductor industry plays an important role for overall economy and social development, it's a pillar, cutting-edge and strategic industry for a country and it's also a key foundation of the information technologies. As the technologies are advancing continuously, the whole structure of semi-conductor industry are also evolving gradually. And the domestic semi-conductor companies are booming in the meantime.This thesis will focus on domestic IC catalogue distributor, which is a new type of semi-conductor plays within the whole industry chain. It will analyze what's new and what have been changed for the overall developing environment, marketing requirements, emerging technologies and supply chains, try to find the challenges and opportunities that domestic semi-conductor manufacturers may face, and study the impacts that may be encountered by domestic manufacturers due to all these new tendencies. The thesis will take the "Competitiveness Theory" and "Core Competency Theory" as guidance to analyze the current competency and in-competency of the domestic manufacturers from many aspects, eg. internal management, human resource and technology innovation etc. Moreover, it will take the P company as an example to study how to recognize, foster and improve the Core Competency of the domestic semiconductor manufacturers and present relative suggestions and solutions.
