Analysis On Area Change Of Rural Residential Land And Its Driving Forces Of Sishui

The rural residential area is the outcome of a certain historical development stage of society, and it is the carrier of farmers to live. The broader distribution, smaller scale, larger quantity and lower price compared with urban land are the characteristics of rural residential area in our country. Because of little economy constraint, the rural residential area is spreading instead of decreasing. The rural residential area expansion becomes a greater threat to the cultivated land.Therefore, reinforcing the research of change and its driving mechanism of land use for rural residency are significant to protect farmland resource theoretically and practically, optimize the structure and layout of rural residential area, promote the intensive land use, move forward the construction of new rural areas actively, boost the surplus rural labors' transfer, and develop the urbanization.Sishui County is selected as the research object in this paper. Firstly, describe the current situation of rural residential land of Sishui, and analyze the change of rural residential land between 1996-2005 from the perspective of amount and regional difference. Secondly, based on these studies, summarize and conclude the issues of rural residential land of Sishui by using GIS and landscape pattern index method. Finally, use factor analysis method to analyze the driving force of rural residential land change on social and economy aspects.The conclusions of this research are as follows:(1) The rural residential area, which locates lower, flatter, more and better cultivated land, is larger and concentrated, and expands rapidly. People have strong modern traffic orientation, when they choose their residences; they prefer living near transport lines. The rural residential closed to the town is more intensive due to the influence from town construction. The one, which has convenient traffic contact with the town, expends obviously, although it is far from the town. Policy factors can directly or indirectly influenced the layout of rural residential areas, they play a decisive role on distribution change of the rural residential areas, but quantitative analysis on policy factors is not easy.(2) The rural development level and the local economic are the main social and economic influence for rural residential areas. Economic progress and rural development bring building boom and make the rural residential areas expand rapidly.
