Research On Sustainable Development Index Of Human Capital

Sustainable development theory has become more and more important since it was proposed in 1972. But every country pays more attention to the sustainable development of natural environment and natural resource than human capital. However, in 21st century, the most important resource is human resource. So research on sustainable development is crucial. Our country has a large population, but is not a powerful human resource country. That's why to develop human resource is our top priority. For now, research on sustainable development of human capital is still not enough and no complete theoretical system is done. The paper combines the sustainable development theory and human capital theory together and proposed the theory frame of sustainable development of human capital. Then I propose the index of sustainable development of human capital by using qualitative and quantitative methods. Applying for the human development index in Sichuan province, it shows that the sustainable development of human capital is closely related with population and education. And analysis finds in an area, the higher the human capital index is, the stronger its sustainable development capacity is.
