Research On Core Competency Of Postal Express Business Based On Value Chain Theory

ABSTRACT:With the rapid development of private courier and the international express entering the Chinese market, China EMS has the intensified competition between them. Many domestic express enterprises have used their respective advantages to participate in the competition, and seize the market share. CRE has price advantage, civil aviation express has speed advantage, and various non-governmental regional express companies have flexible and effective company mechanism and more close to the market price strategy. Also with China's entry into WTO, UPS,Fedex and DHL also adopt the advantage with the technology and capital tycoon in our country, bring EMS the stern challenge. Therefore, it is necessary for EMS in-depth analysis and research to find the way of value in the market competition, ascend and cultivate the core competitive ability, gain a competitive advantage.Based on the value chain theory, this paper first analyzes and constructs EMS's value chain model; Secondly, based on the value chain analysis,from financial management ability, logistics service capacity, network scale and informatization ability, management ability these four ways selecte 18 indexes for evaluating the core competitiveness of EMS;finally, using the method of grey multiple evaluation index system to evaluate, discover its core competitiveness.At the end, this paper puts six aspects to ascend EMS's core competence, including strengthen brand maintenance, promote a new product development, improve the service quality, implement cost priority strategy, long-term planning human resources and enterprise M&A strategy. Hope its research results for EMS using implement value chain management to improve its competitive advantage has certain theory value and practical significance.
