Research On The Exploitation Potential Of The Tourism Resources In Xinjiang

Xinjiang is the Arid-land and semi-Arid land. It has the backward economy and fragile ecological environment. Xinjiang's assessment rating of the energy saving and emission reduction was unfinished in the "the evaluation results of the responsibility for energy saving goals of the regional in 2008" published by the National Development and Reform Commission in 2008. Under the pressure of the energy saving and emission reduction and economic development, to achieve economy and environment in harmony, to achieve great-leap-forward development of the economy Xinjiang, the tourism industry has been given the great expectation by the Autonomous regions and the People's Government. Xinjiang has the abundant tourism resources which have distinctive features. Compared with other provinces in mainland, it has unparalleled competitive advantage. That is the strong backing of prospering the tourism industry in Xinjiang. Researching the exploitation potential of tourism resources in Xinjiang will contribute to speeding up the advantages of tourism resources into the advantages of economy, promoting the faster and better development of tourism industry in Xinjiang. It has very important significance in theories and realism for the eventual realization of the sustainable development of economy, society and environment in Xinjiang.Therefore, based on industry competitiveness theory and the resort's life cycle theory, this paper researches the exploitation potential of tourism resources in Xinjiang from three aspects which are tourism resources, tourism and tourism market by using principal component analysis and model construction. The results indicate the two facts. The first, the top four of the exploitation potential of tourism resources in Xinjiang are Urumqi City, Shihezi City, Turpan Administrative Offices and Altay Administrative Offices. The second, Xinjiang is bounded by a line which connects Counties (Cities) Direct Under Ili Prefecture, Urumqi City and Turpan Administrative Offices. The exploitation potential of the tourism resources is better in the north than in the south. That shows that it is a top priority to take into account developing the prefectures which have the great exploitation potential of the tourism resources in northern.The purpose of this study provide a theoretical reference and recommendations for Tourism workers in Xinjiang, so as to Scientifically and rationally develop the tourism resources, improve the efficiency of operations and realize the healthy and sustainable development of the tourism industry in Xinjiang.
