Research On China's Border Trade Barrier And Ways Of Development

Border trade is a unique form of trade between neighboring countries, and also is an important part of the country's foreign economic and trade. As an important means of border areas developing their export-oriented economy, border trade has obtain considerable development after the reform, especially since 1999, border trade has maintained rapid and steady total value growth, with average growth rate reached 26.53%. Effective and health development of border trade have played a significant effect in promoting economic modernization in the border areas, promoting regional economic and cultural exchanges, and consolidating and developing China neighborly friendship with neighboring countries. However, accompanying with the development of border trade, there are also existing logistics, policy, billing and other aspects of the constraints and obstacles, while these constraints not only bringing much negative effects to China border trade and restricting the China border trade to a higher level of development. As degree of globalization continues to deeper and the development regional economic integration speeder up, China's economic ties with neighboring countries will be more closely, and border trade will play a more important role in China's foreign economic. How to make economic development of border areas better and faster, fully use the natural advantages, convert natural advantages into economic realities of the border areas, solve problems in border trade, and promote the good long-term development of border trade, are the issue we must study. Firstly this paper describe the background and significance of proposal of China's border trade barriers and path selection, comb domestic and abroad scholars view and illustrate research ideas of this thesis. Secondly summarize an overview of the definition of border trade, basic characteristics and related theories, study the history and current status of border trade combining with qualitative and quantitative methods. Then analyze the obstacles and constrains to development of border trade, present countermeasures and path selection mainly in the logistics, policy and billing aspects. Finally, enumerate on successful experiences on NAFTA border trade, and put forward conclusions and recommendations.
