| With the continuous development of science and technology and the globalization of economic competition, information technology has penetrated every corner of society. Computers and communication tools exist everywhere. Information networks are widely spread and information technology is constantly updated. Information technology has become an important feature of global economy and society. The Twelfth Five-Year Plan of China economic and social development has clearly stated that promoting social and economic information in all areas is very important, and e-commerce should be actively developed. Make sure that services for e-commerce for SMEs should be improved, and credit services, online payment, logistics and other support system should be promoted in the whole of society. Increasing the depth of information application of all aspects of the economic and social development is the key point of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan's information application. Information technology not only has played an important role in economic and social development, but also completely has changed the organization's external environment and internal structure. Product life cycles shorter, customer demands more personalized, industry boundaries increasingly blurred, platform sharing, and software quickly upgraded, facing to such enormous change and increasingly complex environment, enterprise information is the inevitable choice to survive for contemporary business companies. Making use of information technology continually to adjust organization structure and carry through organization revolution, enterprise can gain a competitive advantage in fierce competition. Based on this starting point, this study aims to find a better understanding of the relationship among IT capability, organization structure and performance of Pearl River Delta medium-sized manufacturing enterprises with empirical. Through collecting and reading existing relevant literature at home and abroad, the progress and limitations of research about relationship among IT capability, organization structure and performance are summarized. This paper proposes research hypotheses and a conceptual model, after that, the relationship among IT capability, organization structure and performance and mechanism of action are investigated.In the empirical process, this study carries out a large sample of empirical research with the method of questionnaire, and selects the Pearl River Delta manufacturing enterprises as the questionnaire object, for its high degree of marketing and information technology. Samples are involved with various types of companies, including different industries, different sizes, different property, which come from eight cities of Pearl River Delta except the city of Zhongshan.800 questionnaires are distributed, and a total of 512 completed questionnaires are returned, including 381 valid questionnaires. The questionnaire return rate is 47.6%. This study focuses on Pearl River Delta medium-sized manufacturing enterprises, so samples of the sales of less than 30 million yuan are removed, leaving a total of 300 valid questionnaires, which are selected as empirical research datas.This paper uses confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, variance analysis and other methods to analyze the relationship of variables with SPSS and LISEREL tools. The study results are discussed to further explore management implications for manufacturing managers in the Pearl River Delta.Through theoretical study and quantitative analysis, the main conclusions of this paper are as follows:1, At the background of information technology, IT capacity of the Pearl River Delta medium-sized manufacturing enterprises has a significant positive effect on enterprise performance. IT infrastructure resources (IT infrastructure and human resources) have a significant positive effect on enterprise performance. IT relationship and IT system practices don't have a significant effect on enterprise performance.2, Organization structure has a significant positive effect on enterprise performance. Self-management and conformity harmony have significant positive effects on enterprise performance. Borderline penetration doesn't have a significant effect on enterprise performance.3, Enterprises'IT capability has a significant positive effect on organization structure.4, Organization structure has played intermediary role in the relationship between IT capability and enterprise performance.5, Company property has a significant effect on organization structure. Industry sector and total assets have significant effects on enterprise performance.Finally, the conclusion of this study is given, based on which, this study summarized management implications for manufactures in the Pearl River Delta. At the same time, the innovation and the limitations of this study and future research directions are pointed out. |
