Recently, with the development of the economy, society and science, the vocational education of our country has gained a fast development. As an essential part of higher education, the vocational education in our country has done a great contribution for the changing from the elite education to the popular education. At the same time, our aspiration of accepting education is realized, so a great number of talented people are raised for our society.In order to meet social production of accounting practices and the requirements of economic management, accounting generated. With the development of the social economy, the number of accounting talents needed is raising. At the same time, the quality of the talents needed are raising also, so improving the teaching quality of accounting is a necessary requirement to further the development of vocational colleges. And the selection and the application of appropriate teaching methods are directly related to teaching effect and teaching quality.Based on a large number of documents about the basic theory of teaching methods collected and the social survey, the thesis analyzed status quo of the teaching method of accounting in higher vocational colleges. Currently the accounting teaching in higher vocational education is weak in vocational education senses, and in teaching methods they weigh theory more than practice. And deeply influenced by traditional teaching, some teachers focus on teaching rather than learning. On the whole, lacking of research on vocational teaching methods and application of old teaching methods limit the promotion of advanced teaching methods in vocational education.In view of the above theory, the status quo and the reasons put forward, a vocational college recommendation for improvement of accounting teaching is raised:Strengthening the professional vocational awareness of vocational education among accounting teachers, emphasizing the research on vocational teaching methods of accounting, applying new teaching methods in vocational education. So that we can enhance the training of students, improve the quality of teachers, ensure effective implementation of teaching methods and improve the teaching conditions for the use of teaching methods. We firmly believe that based on all the above mentioned methods, the teaching methods of accounting in vocational colleges will be used rationally, teaching quality will be improved and the goal of to training more and more accounting talents with practical and innovative capacity and high skills will come true.
