| With the development of tourism, cultural tourism becomes more and more prosperous. Folklore is the essence of Chinese traditional culture, especially in rural areas for its unique and exotic, so there is a strong attraction for tourists, and the country and each district city intensify the development of rural tourism recently, which provide opportunity using folklore tourism resources to achieve sustainable development of Rural tourism to promote local development. Hubei Province is rich in folklore tourism resources and has the development of rural tourism through the last two decades achieving some results, but also exits a manifestation of cultural gaps. This paper researches folklore and rural tourism development in Hubei province based on theories of sustainable development, tourism product life cycle, tourism human science and endogenous development and methods literature review, field inspection process, comprehensive analysis.The article has five parts.The first part is the introduction. It analyzes the background, significance, mentality and methods of the research and summarizes the currently domestic and international related study of folklore and rural tourism.The second part is the theoretical basis, including the folklore concept, features and functions, folklore tourism resources definition and classification, rural tourism theory and the inter-relationships between folklore and rural tourism.The third part analyzes the status of folklore and rural tourism in Hubei province. Firstly, introduce the history and distinctive styles. Secondly, classify the folklore tourism resources according to the sociality, mentality and material. Thirdly, analyzes the history and the status development of Hubei rural tourism and points out that the types of rural tourism becomes diversity, industrialization and standardization, and the building of famous towns and villages were beginning to show a nice layout by the support of the government, but there is still a long way to go compared with the strong travel province for the irrationally industrial structure, insufficient participation and efficient transportation. Finally, describe the folklore application status in the rural tourism and point out some problems such as cultural connotation explored insufficient, weak brand awareness, "pseudo-folklore" and "vulgar" appearing, lack of rural folklore souvenirs and the uneven distribution of benefits and other issues.The fourth part discusses measures for folklore and rural tourism development in Hubei Province. Indicate the principles, procedure and folklore heritage protection modes, and then propose concrete steps such as strengthening legislation and building property rights protection system, mining cultural connotation, using national intangible cultural heritage rationally to build brand, strengthen propaganda and expanding rural folklore tourism market and enhancing community residents's participation to achieve the sustainable development of rural tourism in Hubei.The fifth part is the conclusion which summarizes some conclusions and points out shortcomings and future research directions. |
