Filial Piety And Rural Endowment

The study is about the relation of filial piety and rural endowment. China's rural endowment problem is facing up a great challenge because of the factors such as social security system which is backward, the rapid speed of the flowing population. This thesis aims to explore how to ease the predicament of rural endowment through highlighting the value of filial piety. This study will collect information by a couple of methods, including reference from the previous studies, quantitative research and qualitative research. The study makes an empirical survey on 252 old people in the rural area of Yichang Hubei. Analysis bases on social anomie theory in the aspect of the old in the rural area. The main conclusions are as follows:There exists a certain degree of "anomie" status in rural endowment of filial piety. Physiological factors and social factors, for instance, old people's health and the state of the economy, will affect their evaluation of children's filial piety. Rural old people's lack of economic guaranty, low social participation and worries about all kinds of problems of their life reflect that rural adult children fail to support their parents in terms of the rules. In addition, they can't provide economic support and care for daily life, as well the emotional comfort.Rural filial piety anomie caused by many factors. The first lies in the backward of the old's endowment idea, meanwhile filial piety fails to meet the demand of the social development and effectively regulating the old and their children to shoulder their own responsibilities of endowment. Secondly, social members'internalization of filial piety standard is shortage; for the children, their identity of filial piety standard is on a low level, and they don't obey the filial piety norm. Thirdly, the living distance between the two generations leads to the result of the decreasing of their emotional interaction. Finally, that the supervision and control mechanism of filial piety is not perfect fail in charge of the unfilial behavior.Therefore, we should take relevant measures to deal with the problem of filial piety disorder. We can play the value of filial piety by changing the old's endowment ideas, promoting people's filial piety internalization, advocating emotional interaction between the two generations and perfecting the supervision and control mechanism of filial piety, thus ease the rural endowment predicament.
