With the accelerated process of urbanization, the economic structure, social life ideas and so on in the rural areas have undergone tremendous changes. By the impact of the Family-planning policy, the miniaturization and core of families is increasingly evident. The rural areas begin to appear empty-nest families and increase gradually. With the increase of rural migrant workers, empty nesters have many problems such as in the economic supporting, life care, spiritual comfort and so on, which we are very worried. Although the countries have committed to improve the rural social security system, many empty nesters are still excluded from the social security system for various reasons. And the construction of the social security system in poverty-stricken areas in the western rural areas is behind. In the context that family pension cannot meet the pension needs of empty nesters, how to solve the pension problem of empty nesters has become the major issues of the society. Its solution Relates to the social stability of rural areas and the construction of socialist harmonious society. In this context, this paper selects Zhuozi County for the research location to analyze the pension status of the empty-nesters combing with interviews, field observations and other methods, in order to improve the pension of the empty-nesters. Through this research, the author found that migrant workers were increasing year by year with the miniaturization of family structure and the accelerated process of urbanization. Staying empty nesters’ living conditions did not improve. Their children’s incomes were not used to subsidize the lives of the elderly. The contrary, as the main labor leaving, the labor intensity of the empty-nesters increased. Life care missed more and more serious, and at the same time as the children go out, the elderly to enjoy their grandchildren had become impossible. The phenomenon of spirit lonely had aroused people’s concern. In order to solve these problems, the author analyzed the status quo in the current study and the theoretical basis. Then this paper pointed out that we should mobilize all forces to give full play, including the power of government, community, NGO, enterprises, families and individuals. We can take measures to weave a safety net of life for empty nesters, such as improving the rural social security system, speeding up the community (village) pension, strengthen the construction of the culture of filial piety, in order to ensure that the empty-nesters can be looked after with dignity.
